Legendary Midget Dirt Race Returns To Ventura Raceway

The 82nd running of the nation’s oldest dirt track race, the ARP Turkey Night Grand Prix, returns to Ventura Raceway on November 24-25, 2023. First run in 1934 at the fabled Gilmore Stadium in Los Angeles, it’s the third oldest auto racing event in the U.S., behind only the Indy 500 and the Pike’s Peak Hill Climb.

Over the course of the event’s history many contemporary racing stars have claimed Turkey Night Grand Prix wins, including Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell and Tony Stewart. The 98-lap main event (a nod to long-time promoter J.C. Agajanian and his family) has also been won by the likes of A.J. Foyt, Parnelli Jones and Bill Vukovich.

Sponsored by Automotive Racing Products (ARP), the highly respected fastener manufacturer that’s also headquartered in Ventura, the Turkey Night Grand Prix traditionally marks the end of USAC’s Midget racing calendar for the year.

Ventura Raceway is located on the Ventura County Fairgrounds at 10 West Harbor Blvd. Information on the ARP Turkey Night Grand Prix and other events on the track’s calendar can be obtained by visiting www.VenturaRaceway.com or calling 805-648-7223
