USAC MIDGET Weekly Preview

By James Zimmerman

The 22nd running of USAC Indiana Midget Week fires off on June 9 launching six straight nights of national midget racing across the Hoosier State. The mini‑series remains one of USAC’s crown‑jewels. A demanding, travel‑heavy week that has produced 14 different champions over its 21 years. Only six drivers have ever repeated: Logan Seavey, Buddy Kofoid, Bryan Clauson, Rico Abreu, Tracy Hines, and Shane Cottle.

2026 Indiana Midget Week Schedule

June 9 — Circle City Raceway

June 10 — Paragon Speedway

June 11 — Lincoln Park Speedway

June 12 — Bloomington Speedway

June 13 — Tri‑State Speedway

June 14 — Kokomo Speedway

Storylines to keep an eye out for during the week.

Justin Grant is chasing the elusive Triple Crown. A midget week title would bring huge momentum for the season long title hunt. JG enters the week with major implications on the line for his season long championship hopes as 9 of the past Midget Week champions have went on to win the season long championship. A Midget Week title would be the first of Grants career and would deliver Chad Boat and CB Industries their third Midget Week championship.

Jacob Denny comes into the week leading the Keith Kunz Motorsports charge. Denny is hoping to continue checking off milestones and accomplishments since joining KKM as he looks to add a Midget Week title to his already impressive resume. Denny and KKM are carrying strong momentum into the six‑race stretch. As they have already won 7 national feature wins on the year, 6 being with POWRi and 1 with USAC.

Kale Drake is defending the 2025 Midget Week crown with a new look, now driving for RMS Racing. Drake captured last year’s title in a rain‑shortened week while driving for KKM. Kale now aims to defend last year’s title and bring home another under his new team banner.

4 Kings Racing looks to have 2 good chances to bring home the Midget Week Crown. Kevin Thomas Jr. and Jacob Boxell both had early success during the opening USAC weekend at Kokomo. KTJ is hoping to continue his consistency that could bring him his first Indiana Midget Week title. Boxell is currently sitting 4th in points after two solid nights at Kokomo, where he collected two top 5 finishes and a quick time in qualifying.
